Welcome, welcome, welcome!
As a 21 year old, stay at home mom who goes to school full-time, I couldn't think of much that I could do with a blog. Then as I was washing my hair after another long day, thoughts upon thoughts flowed right into my head! But before we get into all those shenanigans, let's start with a little more about me.
My name is Heather. As you've probably already guessed, I'm now 21 (hence, My 21st Year being the title). I also already hinted at what most of my day consists of. I'm a stay at home mom to the most AMAZING 5 month old boy around and I am a public relations major at Northern Michigan U. My free time is a combination of rattling rattles, shaking up bottles, changing diapers and reading with my dog laying at my feet (or more often than not, hogging the couch).
I ADORE reading. I'll read mostly anything, at least once. Some of my favorites would be James Patterson, Jodi Picoult and anything about Audrey Hepburn (my idol). As I said before, I'll read any author at least once, or many times if I take a liking. I'm also starting to enjoy the nightly readings of Dr. Suess and related books for the little one.
I decided to study public relations after changing my major 7 (yes you saw right, SEVEN) times. I started at interior decorating, went through different design majors, into marketing and then crashed landed into PR. But it made sense. I'm a talker. Ask any of my grade school and high school teachers and they'll probably tell you it's something that I've always succeeded at (usually to my demise). So I thought to myself, "Heck, if talking is what you do best, why not get paid for it someday?". And BANG I began my jounrey into public speaking and I'm never turning back.
Let's talk more about my family. I have a 5 month old son, Mason, a 2 year old black lab, Audree and a boyfriend that would do anything for all three of us, Harley. He's the father of Mr. Mason (as I affectionately call him) and one of the hardest working people I know. Then of course there are my parents, step parents, grandparents, great-grandmas, siblings, aunts, uncles and more cousins than you could EVER imagine. If you can successfully keep us all straight, I commend you.
With this blog, I plan to show you a little peak of my everyday life, my favorite recipes, crafts and past times and the trials and tribulations a 21 year old goes through. Hang on tight, it's a bumpy ride!
Thanks for reading!
